West Solent Studios began with a retail concept called Scout's South — an independent cross-border commerce company conceptualised in the American South in 2015, with sourcing stops in South Africa, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Greece, and France. By November 2019, we had our first UK clients in Lymington, Hampshire — literally at the intersection of the high street and New Street.
Three weeks later, the first COVID-19 lockdown changed everything. But we kept building. As the pandemic pushed leading e-commerce to catch up with what small international traders already needed, we were ahead of it — developing our own solutions for competitive international shipping, base-price tariffs, unified inventory across borders, and multi-currency checkout. By 2021, with support from HM Customs and the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, we were ready to help other merchants do what we'd already figured out for ourselves.

West Solent Studios became the marketing developer practice behind it — the team that builds the infrastructure and runs the campaigns, because we learned early that splitting those two functions costs small businesses more than it saves them.
Today, every product we sell, we use. Every system we build for a client, we've built a version of for ourselves first. And every marketing programme we run is measured by the only metric that matters: sales attributed to marketing. Fisher & Farmer remains the proving ground — if it works there, across three countries, five business verticals, and a loyalty currency, it works anywhere.
